COUPE AND ROADSTER PORSCHE 718 RECEIVED A NON-CHILD ENGINE

Six-cylinder engine for new products borrowed from the hardcore Cayman GT4-this coupe oppositnik, able to spin up to 7,800 rpm, develops 420 HP and the same amount of torque. Apparently, in order for future buyers not to get confused, the return of the engine was slightly reduced. Now it develops exactly 400 HP at the same 420 Nm, but to please the conservatives on the Cayman GTS 4.0 and Boxster GTS 4.0, the engine will only be aggregated with a manual transmission.

Accordingly, the new items were slightly slower, although it is unlikely that this difference will be significant for future buyers. The Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 will take 4.5 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h, while the Cayman GT4 does the same 0.1 seconds faster, and the top speed of the sports cars is 293 and 304 km / h, respectively. The indicators of the Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 and 718 Spyder Roadster with the same engines are identical to the "Cayman" ones.

The chassis of the new products, which is rich in proprietary technologies, will also work for driving pleasure. In the base coupe and Roadster already includes a thrust vectoring system with a mechanical locking rear differential, adaptive suspension PASM lowering by 20 mm, the Sport Chrono package, sports exhaust system, dynamic engine mounts, a retuned stability system and powerful brakes.

The diameter of the brake discs for the new products was increased compared to the standard "Cayman" and "Boxter" by 20 mm – up to 350 mm in the front and 330 mm in the rear. They are hidden in 20-inch black wheels with 235/35 ZR 20 tires on the front and 265/35 ZR 20 on the rear axle. Additional distinctive features of sports cars are the black body decor in the front part and the redesigned lower part of the rear bumper, as well as the abundance of Alcantara in the interior.
