Again confirmed that the crossover will get a German engine – 4 litre twin turbo V8 from Mercedes-AMG, which will be able to develop up to 550 HP, all-wheel drive System is also borrowed from the Germans, and some media solutions.
As for the chassis, it will still be completely original, developed on the basis of the architecture that is used in the latest asphalt models of the famous British brand. At the same time, an adjustable suspension and a spacious interior are also promised: this quality will be provided by an impressive wheelbase, whose length exceeds three meters, in comparison with the sports "classic" Aston Martin.
It is claimed that Russia has already received about three dozen pre-orders for the purchase of a crossover (which is twice the number of sports cars of the brand, which is sold on average in our country for the year), and the Russian market is named one of the key. This is indirectly confirmed by the hopes of the manufacturer: Aston Martin expects to sell up to 5 thousand copies of the DBX per year. Thus, the release of the SUV on the market should help the brand to increase sales by about half.
Support for this strategy will be provided by the expansion of the DBX motor range. Presumably, after a while it will include three installations: to the base V8 should join a hybrid system and, perhaps, branded V12, abandon which Aston Martin does not want.
Sales will start at the beginning of next year (closer to this point will be announced and prices), and the test Assembly of the crossover is already in full swing.
