Identify the BAIC BJ90 donor platform is unlikely to succeed: the Chinese have designed the SUV

Identify the BAIC BJ90 donor platform is unlikely to succeed: the Chinese have designed the SUV completely original appearance. The new product is easy to guess the features of American SUVs, but the concern believes that the BJ90 received a family exterior, which should indicate its belonging to the model line of this brand. In addition, the SUV was equipped with a downright defiant number of chrome elements.

As for the interior, the interior architecture has not changed much: the BAIC BJ90 has retained, for example, the shape of the center console, recognizable steering wheel, door panels and some control handles with additional functions. However, the console "settled" modern multimedia system with a large touch screen, which the original Mercedes-Benz GL never put. Curiously, the logo of the German brand remained on the brand key ignition-if you believe the photos of new items published by the local portal Autohome.

Mercedes-Benz also borrowed engines: the SUV is planned to be equipped with three-and four-liter engines with a return of 333 and 422 HP paired with a four-wheel drive system and automatic. According to preliminary data, the motor range of the SUV will be updated next year, but the adaptation will be to fit the current eco-standards. Prices for the new product in the local market are in the range of 0.98 to 1.288 million yuan, and this is even slightly higher than the current Mercedes-Benz GLS in China.

And the novelty is made in full accordance with the license agreement of the BAIC concern and the Mercedes-Benz company, so that the "clone" was born completely legally. The two companies have been linked by partnership for a decade and a half.
