Toyota built a special ceremonial car – an open version of the Toyota Century sedan

Toyota built a special ceremonial car – an open version of the Toyota Century sedan-for the coronation ceremony of the new Emperor Naruhito of Japan scheduled for October. Convertible created in a single copy.

In Japan, the Toyota Century is a kind of analogue of the Russian Aurus Senat: an expensive, prestigious and rare domestic car for officials and businessmen. But the open version of the Century will not be able to buy: the ceremonial convertible is designed exclusively for ceremonial trips (as, indeed, the open version of the "Senate").

Built on a flagship brand of sample 2018, open Toyota Century, according to the publication, Japanese Nostalgic Car, kept four full doors and 5 340 mm length. However, as far as can be seen from the photos, the top of the convertible is not provided any, even soft. The rear seats mounted higher than the front due to the inclination of the back just 25 degrees to ensure proper Regal posture of the Imperial family, and nothing would prevent the mutual contemplation of the subjects beloved of the Emperor, the Emperor and his loyal subjects. For the same purpose, the driver's and front passenger's seats are devoid of head restraints.

According to the newspaper, the convertible will complement the standard for Century and also for the Lexus LS600h hybrid powertrain, which employs atmospheric 5-liter V8 and an electric motor with a total output of 431 HP Manufacturer no technical details about the project are not published.
